The team behind JoomlaIF are all full-time professional developers, designers & producers with skills honed across multiple digital agencies and now under one roof at iFactory. We would like to bring an ever expanding range of Joomla extensions to web designers all over the globe.
Why? Because we recognise that web visitors are expecting ever more interactive experiences online and website managers need to control the website content themselves. This we all our Joomla modules & components feature great interactivity with self-edit.
Our History
After being a big Mambo CMS fan several years ago, iFactory made the decision to develop their own CMS system, iFactory CMS, better devoted to their needs. As the development pipeline progressed and many powerful features where added it became clear there was little leverage for a small development team in maintaining an advanced system that had only internal sales opportunity. Especially when Mambo and then Joomla! were doing such a great job.
iFactory made the decision to focus their development opportunities on Joomla! While it meant discarding alot of code that had been written, it gave iFactory the opportunity to take all that they had learned by having complete freedom to develop their own CMS and apply it to an Open Source Solution.
As iFactory was essentially a web development company it was decided that the focus should be made on targeted solutions aimed at Joomla!. For this a new brand was needed. This is how JoomlaIF came into being.
JoomlaIF aims to be an internet product company specialising in extensions development for the Joomla! open source CMS. We value all the work that many developers do in developing extensions for Joomla! that they essentially give away for free. While ‘free' is great it created two problems, firstly no reliable development pipeline for the component as the developer had to have a day job and secondly, not a lot of support & tutorials for junior users who struggle with everyday development issues.
For this reason the decision was made to charge for our components. We plan to deliver many high grade components throughout the next year. You will also notice that if you purchase one of our components and have installation problems JoomlaIF will respond within 48 hours and have you on the road in no time.
It is our intention, that as JoomlaIF revenues increase we will devote a tech full-time to supporting our community. We will also be pro-active in donating back to Joomla! proving that a good commercial license model can actually enhance the resources of the Open Source Community.
